The Alessi Showroom En on the Right Bank has all the classics but also a wide choice of new pieces with the selection drawn from past masters and young talents: from the “Giro” cutlery set, designed by Ben Van Berkel/ Un Studio to the “Forma” cheese grater, one of the last projects designed for Alessi by the Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, as well as many others.

Echoing the space designed by Alessandro Mendini on the Right Bank, the Alessi ShopMuseum on the Left Bank is here designed by the Spanish designer, Martì Guixé. Located in a 19th century building with a five metre long display window, the different volumes of the store combine in three spaces linked using a horizontal ribbon in lacquered red.
The iconic address of the Mercadier brand 16 Chantier street is transformed into a workshop creating a new shop at the number 10 of the same street. A Showroom En of 70sqm revealing on the right a color chart of all their colors of polished concrete introduced by the founders fteen years ago for it materials until then booked for the black and the grey.
After the rue des Vinaigriers, Kann Design has opened a second boutique this time in the up and coming Batignolles district. Houssam Kanaan specialises in copies of vintage furniture that he has made in a family business in Lebanon. The 40 sqm boutique shows a selection of small scale furniture from the 1950’s, including tables, sofas and armchairs.
Colonel was born in 2010 when Isabelle Gilles met Yann Poncelet, creator of the eponymous cocktail of creativity. Colonel continues with its original vocation at its own boutique and in the collections it distributes. Original creation is where it comes from, with a penchant for traditional handcrafts.
Ten years ago the brand Moaroom introduced european design fans to the otherwise unknown works of New Zealand’s best designers – most notably the wooden ‘Coral’ light of David Trubridge and the oak and metal ‘Pi tables’ of Roderick Fry. With clever, contemporary use of traditional materials such as wood, metal and glass the items has enjoyed a growing following from Parisians who value craftsmanship, solidity, and eco-conception.
