For the first European outlet of their restaurant chain the Japanese chefs Isao Kuroiwa and Yoshitaka Ikeda called on the services of the architects Daï Sugasawa to come up with the minimalist décor at their restaurant Le Clos Y. Like the fusion cuisine that is their signature the interior architecture in the 100 sqm oats between traditional Japanese with minimalist features, clever plays of light, textures and tensions. It’s as if a central casting version of a Japanese restaurant had been transposed to a culinary research laboratory that happens to include a huge central counter made from cherry wood imported straight from the land of the rising sun.
