La Trésorerie, which changed of use, thanks to Elsa Coustals, Lino Landau and Denis Geffrault, became a modern day bazaar that is packed with useful gadgets: forks, bistro cups, Iittala and Duralex glasses, linen dishcloths, Basque table settings, brushes of all sizes, black soap and beeswax, cast-iron and enameled cooking pots and even paint. A carefully made selection is environmentally friendly and 90 percent of it is made in Europe, in a Elisabeth Leriche scenography. On the upper oor, Bønneborde furniture by the Danish designer Karsten Lauritsen’s is on show (and on sale) while the Smörgas café has delicious open sandwiches, fresh juices, cookies and salads.
