In activity for ten years, the La Friche bookshop has decided to give itself ‘an architecture’ in keeping with the quality of the books it sells. Dimitri Sautier, interior architect and designer has often worked on multidisciplinary projects. He has a very technical and functional approach and an international perspective. From this collaboration was born the idea of transforming the bookshop into a unique and emblematic place in the quartier: ‘a bookshop entirely in oak’. The timelessness of the books on sale naturally imposed the choice of noble, high quality materials. The ceiling is in oak and worked like a chess board and the oors are in industrial concrete.
