Drawing on his japanese inspiration, Issey Miyake has painted the new tableau of his story in an Antarctic white shade. The pristine locale, open since october 2008, is an architectural act combined with a single-tune hymn designed by Jean- Guillaume Mathiaut. The store is designed on the model of an industrial workshop, affording customers a chance to look at the brand’s new collections and methods of inspiration and fabrication. Through a streamlined geometric configuration, a 12m long, seamstress-style table, grey concrete floor softened with ochre hues, the Miyake aesthetic springs up, wrapped in its mineral skin and enshrouded in near-natural light.
