Considered as one of the most influential gallery owners within the world of modern and contemporary art, Larry Gagosian opened a second gallery in autumn 2012 in a monumental space in the heart of an industrial zone in northern Paris. Renovated by Jean Nouvel together with HW Architecture, the project is located in an old building of 1 650 sqm, has two floors and enables the showing of sculptures, paintings and large-scale installations. With a ground floor overlooked by a 340 sqm mezzanine the space offers maximum flexibility, and Prouvé and Calder’s works have had no difficulty drifting over an air eld, to the rhythm of the landings and departures of the art collectors’ private jets.
