CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA DANSE

1, rue Victor Hugo

01 41 83 98 98

Description

Created in 1998, the CND possesses, aside of its cultural vocation, all the trump cards of a unique site consecrated to the furthering of dance. Brainwave of Jacques Kalisz, the former administration of the city of Pantin was renovated by Antoinette Robain and Claire Guieysse, a work that won them the Equerre d’argent Prize in 2004. In this vast quadrangle of 7 000 sqm, the architect duo respected the simple volumes of the site and transformed the raw concrete into a space of muted colours, wavering between grey-pink and matt red. Hervé Audibert orchestrated the lighting and the furniture elements were put in the capable hands of Michelangelo Pistoletto and Hélène Diebold. On stage !
