Jean Bousquet, founder of Cacharel and in another era a visionary mayor of Nîmes who in his day commissioned work from Foster, Starck and Nouvel has re-opened a boutique in Paris. The interior is the work of “Jean Nouvel Design”. Enjoying an exceptional location opposite the Marché Saint Germain, the 100 sqm is bathed in light. Walls and ceilings are partly made from a stretched textile screen that is back-lit, and storage is a continuation of the Oberflex tiles used on the floors. The design of hanging displays and the movable LED lighting pods create a sense of intimacy. “Here, says Jean Nouvel, it’s the products that make the architecture”.
