Founded in 1934, the leading French auctioneers of modern and contemporary art have stayed put in the neo-classical splendour of the Dassault building. Renovated in 2002 by Jean-Michel Wilmotte, Artcurial has maintained its place at the top of the league table for design auctions in Europe. The 100 sqm café designed by Charles Zana reflectes perfectly the spirit of the place. Limestone and brick, topped off with a glass cupola the interior architecture takes its cue from the great names in 20th century Italian design, from Gio Ponti to Ettore Sottsass.
